The teams of the DAR Fishing Club opened the fall trail with great results with the young fishermen earning honors in two tournaments and one individual competition.
Luke Lewis and James Morrison finished 7th in the Riverbend Student Angler Trail event on Pickwick Lake on September 7, with a weight of 11.90lbs and caught the big fish of the tournament weighing in at 4.90lb.
KDS DAR senior Tanner Mason participated in the Bassmaster High School Combine September 13-15 in Decatur. There he was able to meet college fishing coaches and learn about their programs. He competed against other anglers from across the country in various skills challenges. Tanner won the casting accuracy competition.
On September 21 Ethan Edwards and Patrick Buchanan finished 1st place in the Riverbend Student Angler Trail event on Lake Guntersville with a weight of 20.15lbs. In the Junior division of the same event, Max Miller and Gunner Clark finished 2nd place with a weight of 10.51lbs. Max and Gunner also finished in 2nd place in the Junior Division at the Wheeler Lake tournament on October 12.
The team’s final tournament of the season will be November 2nd on Weiss Lake.
