KDS DAR Elementary School 3rd grade students recently completed a fun and exciting, months-long project that taught them the significance of important historical figures. Students selected one person to research so they could portray that individual for an interactive “Living Wax Museum” presentation.
The students completed research on their characters in class and, after taking notes with facts about the historical figures, the teachers helped them type up their reports. Students practiced reading their reports daily at school and at home, with most memorizing their presentations. They were also given instructions to create a tri-fold display, and to also gather a costume to portray the person they had chosen for the presentation.
Parents were invited to attend the Living Wax Museum in Becker-Horton Hall and were instructed to step on “the button” in front of each figure to hear each student’s presentation.
