KDS Elementary Students Present Living Wax Museum

KDS DAR Elementary School third grade students recently completed a fun and exciting, months-long project that taught them the significance of important historical figures. Students selected one person to research so they could portray that individual for an interactive “Living Wax Museum” presentation.

The students completed research on their characters in class and, after taking notes with facts about the historical figures, the teachers helped them type up their reports. Students practiced reading their reports daily at school and at home, with most memorizing their presentations. They also created a tri-fold display and gathered a costume to portray the person they had chosen for the presentation.

This was such an amazing educational experience for both the students and the parents. The students not only learned about the person they researched and portrayed; they also “met” the other historical and modern-day figures chosen by their classmates.
