KDS to Host Community Centennial Celebration

KDS DAR School in Grant is turning 100, and the school is planning a community-wide celebration befitting a centennial. The KDS DAR School Community Centennial Celebration is Saturday, February 24 on the KDS campus. There are a number of activities planned throughout the day, and the entire community is invited to attend.

“The school’s 100th birthday is an exciting milestone, and we want the community to be a part of the celebration. We’ve planned a day of fun and nostalgia, and there’s really something for everyone,” said Heather Green, KDS Executive Director.

School groups and teams are hosting various events throughout the day on

February 24. Activities planned for the Community Centennial Celebration include Bingo, Craft Show, music, Soup Supper, Pancake Breakfast, food trucks, classic cars, campus tours, and more.

Green added, “In addition to many wonderful musical performances from local artists and graduates, one of the things I’m most excited about is a special ‘reunion’ performance of the Sutphin Family Cloggers. That’s a group many in our community remember.”

A detailed schedule of events and additional information can be found at www.kdsdar.org.
