On Thursday, April 6, the Middle School Peer Helpers had the honor of assisting Pat Brooks and other members of the John Wade Keys Chapter, NSDAR, from Athens, Alabama. Mrs. Brooks has created a program called the Fearless Project that provides comfort bags for police departments to give to children when there is an emergency that could be upsetting.
The comfort bags include a Fearless book and coloring book, both featuring characters created by Mrs. Brooks, as well as crayons, a soft blanket, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a note of encouragement.
The program has been so well received it has now expanded beyond Limestone County into Marshall County.
The Peer Helpers loved helping package these comfort bags for students in need and are thankful to be a small part of this great project.
